The serious fire occurred this morning in an oyon manufacturing factory of industrial varnishes and coatings for wood and related materials has already been extinguished. Although at first the fire has forced the Government of La Rioja to activate level 1 of the Regional Emergency Plan, Platterar, finally the fire has been controlled.
In any case, Firefighters of Álava remain in the place of Alava performing auction and surveillance work. According to the services intervening to the Emergency Coordinating Center, there have been no personal damage, although the affected company has suffered important material damage.
The events occurred near three in the morning, when several neighbors alerted Sos Rioja on the spectacular fire. From the Coordination Center of the Emergency Service, the Firefighters of the City of Logroño already mobilized the resources of the Riojan Health Service, in preventive service.
Upon reaching the location of the factory, the emergency teams confirmed the severity of the fire and from SOS Rioja additional resources were mobilized to support the services already present, including Civil Protection technicians, Firefighters of the CEIS Rioja, Red Cross and Highway Maintenance Personnel.
At the moment the causes of the fire are unknown.
