
José Ascension Murguía Santiago, mayor of Teuchitlán, Jalisco was arrested on Saturday, May 3, according to sources from the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), he is noted to be involved in the crimes of the Izaguirre Rancho.
On Friday, May 2, members of the Guerreros Searchers collective of Jalisco received authorization from the FGR to be able to enter the property again where the investigations are carried out.
As stated by the seeking mothers, this place operated as a training field of the Jalisco Nueva Generación cartel and possibly also worked as a clandestine crematorium, but the latter was denied by the authorities.
Murguía Santiago, militant of the Citizen Movement Party, is the first public official to be apprehended as part of the investigations of the Izaguirre Rancho.
