The YPF oil company prepares a system by which, as of June, it can monitor in real time the behavior of the demand in each of its more than 1,600 service stations throughout the country, which will allow you to adjust its offer according to the amount of sales and competition. In other words, YPF may increase or lower its prices at every moment of the day and the town of the country to win market and margins.
This system is called “micropricing” and the YPF management team thought, with its president and CEO, Horacio Marín, at the head. The Real Time Intelligence Center (RTIC) that will allow the company’s operations to be controlled in real time from its tower in Puerto Madero will be launched on June 23.
This is not the first YPF incursion into operational intelligence: in December, the company opened a RTIC focused on Vaca Muerta, which has already allowed the increase speed of 61% and save up to 200 million dollars annually by improving the efficiency in oil and gas exploration and production. With the new unit, the objective is to replicate that leap of productivity in the commercial segment.
In radio statements Marín explained: «We are going to inaugurate on June 23 a RTIC for service stations, which will allow us to see in real time the consumption of gasoline and diesel of all the suppliers of Argentina. Let’s say that in a town where little is consumed at night and we lose money, so we can lower the costs, generate the self -describe and lower the prices of the gasoline. That way, we will be more profitable and people load more.
YPF will report on Thursday, May 8, its results from the first quarter of 2025. In their last annual balance, managers assured that fuel prices in the local market were practically equated with those of the international market.
