Police arrest “Sayita”, involved in double homicide in Barahona

Police agents assigned to the South Regional Directorate arrested in the municipality of Tamayo, Bahoruco province, a man who was sought for his alleged responsibility in a double homicide occurred in 2023, in the Cambodian sector, Barahona.

In a press release, the Institution of the Order indicated that it is José Rocha Lunchaka Sayita, who was arrested in compliance with the court order No. 589-01-2023-AJ-03378, after an intelligence and investigation work carried out by members of the national Police.

According to the National Police, Rocha Almonteconsidered one of the most wanted criminals in the province, is accused of being the author of the death of Elvis Cuevas y Luis Alejandro Lópezwho died from gunshot wounds, product of old personal quarrels.

He also stressed that Junier Rochason of Rocha AlmonteIt is also recognized for its criminal activities and is detained and receiving medical care after being shot dead when facing a police patrol. At the time of his capture, an illegal gun was seized.

According to the police, father and son, they have a criminal record and maintain several cases pending with justice.

The detainee will be made available to the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes.
