Governor Martín Llaryora presided over the act in which he proceeded at the light of the flame with which the gas work that the province executed for the national university of Río Cuarto (UNRC) was formally inaugurated.
The provision of gas for the university community has a significant impact because not only allows you to lower costs and strengthen security, but will optimize the conditions in which certain activities are carried out on the campus, such as research and extension tasks.
In his speech, the provincial president highlighted the joint work between the province, the mayors of the region, the rector and the Superior Council of the UNRC.
“You know that you have us,” he emphasized, and recalled that the work was assumed at first by the nation and that he ended up being truncated, until the provincial government decided to take the reins of the project that today is already a reality.
“A country cannot grow or progress in the world of knowledge without education. Less refinanced and leaving our scientific and technological teams totally drifting. That is to condemn ourselves to delay and lose something we are proud of, such as our university education,” said Llaryora.
And then he highlighted the educational quality of the province and the leadership achieved at the national level in the Tests Learn: “As Cordoba makes us proud the educational quality that we are lending to our young people in the midst of this economic crisis,” he said.
Among the main beneficiaries of the gas work are the more than 400 inhabitants of the residence that belongs to the university. The space consists of 104 departments that house students and teachers, who will now see a remarkable change in their quality of life.
The mayor of Rivas showed his satisfaction for the provincial government’s decision to provide this important service for the university: “Thank you for specifying these governor works, this reaffirms the integral vision of a federal Córdoba that always looks forward.”
It should be noted that, in total, the works benefit some 22 thousand members of the university community.
-The rector of the UNRC, Marisa Rovera, highlighted the importance of public policies such as these, and considered: “This work of gas benefits student residences and we know the social meaning that this has. when we talk about inclusion, when we talk about the opportunity, it has to do with that, that education is priority and without ideological biases or supporters to students.”
For the concretion of the works, 3,370 meters of pipe had to be laid. The investment exceeds 214 million pesos and was carried out thinking of improving the quality of life of students, teachers and non -teachers, providing progress and dignity to the population.
Years ago a high pressure gas pipeline was made, but it had connected only to the veterinary faculty. Now, the gas will reach all of the campus units.
In that sense, Rubén Borello, infrastructure director of the Ministry of Public Services, said: “This work of gasifying the entire university had been faced by the nation and was truncated with the change of government, without resources. Then, from the province, the governor decided to take the post and make this important investment.”
At the same time, the Secretary of Technical Coordination and Services of the House of High Studies, Mauricio Toledo, stressed: «The impact of moving on to Natural Gas is very important for UNRC. Within the university residence students from all over the southern region of the province of Córdoba live, so for us it is very pleasant to be able to offer them a quality service like this ».
Micaela, a student and resident of the UNRC, valued the positive impact that this inauguration will have for the University: “That the gas arrives at residences is a great step for us students, it is an advance that we were waiting for a long time.”
