The Calderón Guardia hospital urgently requires blood or+blood donors, so it urges the general population to donate blood, given the decline in the reserves of the vital fluid in the institution that could prevent timely care of various emergency situations.
The head of the Blood Bank, Diana Campbell, emphasized the situation experienced by the hospital in the low assistance of donors in recent days.
Among the basic requirements for donating blood are; Present yourself with identity or residence card, be between 18 and 65, have a minimum weight 52 kg and more than 1.50 meters of stature and have good health in general.
It must also consume a meal or snack prior to the donation with less than three hours since the last intake, consume a minimum of 500 milliliters of water before and after the donation.
-If you have tattoos, perforations or micro pigmented makeup, they must have more than six months of performed, added to not suffering infectious infectious diseases, presenting flu tables in the last month, consuming antibiotics in the last 15 days or having surgery in the last six months.
The donor service schedules are from Monday to Thursday from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm on Fridays from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm, as well as on Saturdays and Sundays from 7 am to 5:30 pm
The donor does not require a previous appointment, whose process takes approximately 40 minutes with the filling of the form, the evidence, the donation and recovery process, plus the taking of the snack.
Each blood donation can save up to three lives.
