The New Diario, Jerusalem.- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamín Netanyahu said Thursday that bringing the Israelis captive by Hamas in Gaza back to Israel is “very important”, but added that the “final objective” of the offensive in the Palestinian enclave is “victory” over their enemies.
During his speech in an act held in Jerusalem on the occasion of Israel’s Independence Day, Netanyahu said he has “many goals in the war” in Gaza, among which he cited the return of the hostages (59 captives remain, of which they would remain alive) as “very important.”
And he added: “In the war, there is a final objective, and this final goal is the victory over our enemies, and we will achieve it.”
Netanyahu said that after the attack of October 7, 2023 of Hamas in Israeli territory, which left 1,200 dead, the Israelis stood “standing like lions” and gave “a spooky war” to their enemies.
More than 52,000 people died from the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip -according to the Ministry of Health of the Enclave -which is practically destroyed and where Israel currently controls around 70 % of the territory, while the conversations for a high fire remain stagnant.
