The municipality of Pocito launched “Young Welfare”, a program that will be aimed at promoting, preventing and containing the issue of mental health in young people, in an act that was headed by the mayor Fabian Aballay.
“For the municipality the health of its neighbors is very important, in this case the mental health of its young people, so we launched this program through the coordination of youth,” said Aballay, who signed an agreement with the “Live to the fullest” Foundation to be able to implement it.
“The idea is that there is a territorial operator that goes to the squares and clubs, which is linked and interrelated with the various communities, to detect the problems and can be addressed professionally,” said the communal chief.
For his part, Ricardo Brito, president of the Foundation “lives to the fullest”, said that “it is essential to work together with the municipality of Pocito to address is thematic and try to achieve an effective solution to the problems currently facing young people.”
The signed agreement plans to form a cabinet that will promote emotional well -being by promoting the development of resilience, self -care and coping skills in individuals; will provide psychological support to people who are going through difficult situations such as duels, family conflicts or emotional crises; will educate about mental health; and will encourage social inclusion so that all people have the opportunity to access mental health services, among other activities.
He will also hold sessions of support groups in which issues such as mental health, self -esteem and social pressure will be addressed; Emotional skills workshops that include relaxation and training techniques in social skills; Informative talks about the importance of mental health, stress management and suicide prevention; and recreational activities that promote group cohesion and the development of trust among the participants.
