This Monday, April 21, Sofía Rivera Torres and Eduardo Videgaray announced the birth of their first child in common, Ferrán Videgaray Rivera Torreswho was born on April 14.
“At 11:11 pm, magic came to our world. Happy first week of life, my love,” the couple wrote in a joint publication that shows a brief video where you can see the baby’s feet and face.

The name Ferrán, of Catalan and Germanic origin, is a variant of Fernando and derives from the word ‘Firthunands’, which combines the elements ‘Firthu’ (Freedom or Peace) and ‘Nands’ (bold or brave).

Sofía Rivera Torres, 32, and Eduardo Videgaray, 55, announced their pregnancy in October 2024 with a fun video on Instagram, faithful to their charismatic style.
“There is something we want to communicate to you. We knew that it involved challenges … there is a lot of love and there will be times that we will treasure a lifetime. After almost six years together and after meditating it deeply, we have decided that as our love has overcome all the challenges. We have decided that we will complicate our lives a little more,” they said in the clip and then both were put caps with the words “Dad” and “Mom”.
