The CAD of Hexagon Sig arrived in Chile. The official presentation was made by Gonzalo Cornejo, CEO of Insight Security –Partner Reseller of Hexagon Sig in Chile – on April 28, within the frame The host municipality.
“This computer -assisted dispatch system (CAD for its acronym in English) is a world leader in Safe City and Smart City thanks to its capacity for technological integration, since it has revolutionized the way in which emergencies are managed and crime is fought in more than 40 countries where this solution has already been implemented,” said Cornejo.
During the exhibition, the Hexagon SIG representative in Chile, stressed the relevance of the CAD not only for large urban centers, but also for regions and rural areas, where the expansion of organized crime has been more noticeable. “The robust digital infrastructure of the country, with 69.7% of fiber optic -based fixed connections, positions Chile as an ideal candidate to lead in the region the transformation to safe cities,” added Cornejo.
During the presentation, emphasis was placed on how citizen security has become the main concern of the Chilean population. While in 2000 issues such as poverty and employment headed the list, today crime and organized crime dominate the public debate. As explained by Cornejo. According to the statistics of the Carabineros Stop, in Chile they occur, on average, an homicide every 8 hours and 13 robberies with violence per hour are recorded.
In this context, the emergence of complex crimes such as sicariate, kidnapping, extortion and arms and migrants traffic has put the traditional response system in check, evidencing a deficit of resources and a limited capacity to georeference emergencies, especially in rural areas.
Hexagon Siga proposes a specific and proven solution: the implementation of the CAD system (computer -assisted office), which integrates artificial intelligence and data analysis in real time to optimize emergency care. This system allows: the management of incidents in real time, mobile office and field reports, interoperability between agencies and predictive and cartographic analysis.
Hexagon has a presence, for example, in bay. In this state is the largest public security operations center in South America, there are integrated the Military Police, Civil Police, Technical Police and the Fire Department, as well as other units for a total of 40 agencies. “This has allowed us to reduce response times and that translates into saved lives,” said Insight Security CEO.
With operations in more than 40 countries, more than 1,000 million protected people and experience in cities such as New York, London, Rio de Janeir Cornejo concluded. (NP-Equipo de Communications network insight security)
