In a complaint for threats admitted yesterday before the seventh Court of Guarantee of Santiago, the presidential candidate of the National Libertarian party (NLP), Johannes Kaiser Barents-Von Hohenhagen, requested that surveillance and protection measures be adopted for physical integrity and that of José Antonio Kast, letter from the Republican Party.
The request was made by a complaint due to threats filed after the appearance of two dolls with their faces and bracelets of Nazis swastika hanging head in a whereabouts in front of the La Moneda Palace on May 1, a scene with great similarity to the presentation of the bodies of the fascist leader Benito Mussolini and his allies in the Plaza de Loreto in April 1945.
The assembly – which generated a transverse repudiation at the political level for its promotion to hatred and violence – was disseminated in Instagram stories of the official communist youth account (JJ.CC.) of Santiago, which also shared a publication that showed mussolini cuts and both candidates face down with crosses in their eyes, with the slogan “As in the Plaza Loreto we can still beat them”.
Despite this, from the Executive Commission of the JJ.CC. They unbalanced the fact, stating that their “proposal to combat fascism is not extermination” and inviting to dismantle those practices that threaten democracy.
“The threat is very direct,” says the complaint presented by lawyer Francisco Caballero Germain on behalf of the PNL founder: “(…) we consider a call to their comrades to perform such deadly actions against both opposition leaders, in the same way that any organized power apparatus operates.”
He also pointed to the current government: “If a presidential candidate of an opposition party and deputy in exercise, is threatened with death by members of the ruling party, especially if the party has a nourishing history of violence, then the rule of law and democracy themselves are compromised. Moreover, even more if the threat is directed against two pre -candidates of the opposition.”
“It cannot finally be omitted that the Communist Party is currently a ruling party and that the threats are perfectly serious, given that said party historically has a history of military actions and political, public and notorious violence,” he accused, adding as an antecedent that the PC would have to date with arsenals due to the low -rich carrier landings.
Finally, the complaint caught attention to the severity of threats and the “rational possibility” that a homicide can be carried out, comparing it with the murder in our country of Venezuelan Lieutenant Ronald Ojeda at the hands of organized crime bands.
Thus, the libertarian candidate asked the Public Ministry to grant them protection, dispatch the Investigation Police (PDI) to investigate the situation and quote both the president of the Communist Party, Lautaro Carmona Soto, as well as the deputy and president of the communist youth of Chile, Daniela Serrano. Consulted by Radio Bío Bío, from José Antonio Kast’s team they denied that the candidate for the moment will join the complaint or present their own.
