The former chancellor Álvaro Leyva surprised on Tuesday, May 6, with another letter about President Gustavo Petro. To the revelation that he would have drug addiction problems, he added new episodes that would highlight an alleged disease of the Head of state.
The current Minister of Foreign Affairs, Laura Sarabia, referred to the most recent written communication of Leyva and left in defense of the president:
“Diplomacy is a state work, not egos. The president leads with commitment, for peace. His actions support him, he does not need to defend himself against the adjectives of former officials who today only seek to do the damage,” Sarabia said.
Not to mention the name of her former gabinet partner, the woman added in a trill shared on Tuesday, May 6, in her personal social network X:
“Flaw favor to the debate, the missives of a former official today sanctioned by the Attorney General’s Office for more than 10 years, who insists on denigrating from the president,” concluded the chancellor.
It is worth remembering that Laura Sarabia has also been the protagonist of the letters written by Leyva. For example, on April 22 he warned that Gustavo Petro would be kidnapped by her, Armando Benedetti and the president of Ecopetrol, Ricardo Roa.
The relationship between the two was not good when they agreed in the national government. Among so many things, Leyva accused her of waiting for hours to have meetings with Petro on the design of the foreign policy of the State.
“The same thing happened so many times that, finally, she understood that she was the owner of her time, of some her own chores and that, in addition, she met some personal needs,” said the former chancellor in his first letter.
The missives have generated a political earthquake in Colombia. National Government officials and congressmen who are close to the President have come out in their defense and disqualified the arguments of the former official.
On the contrary, the members of the opposition have given importance to each message of the former chancellor and have urged the Head of State to practice medical examinations and make known the results before public opinion, in order to clarify if he has the health conditions to carry the reins of the country.
Meanwhile, Petro assured in a public event at the Casa de Nariño that “what has come out today It is not a gossip, it is a plot“On Leyva, he said he was dismissed by the Attorney General’s Office and now” wants to blame me. “
