Mathieu Van der Poel has left his mark again in the history of cycling with his third consecutive victory in the Paris-Roubaix 2025, one of the most demanding classics of the international calendar. He has also done so, premiering the Canyon Aerad Cfr Tensor, a model designed specifically to maximize performance in the extreme conditions of the PAURE. Now, this bicycle, developed in collaboration between the Dutch champion and the Canyon engineers, is available for the public with a montage practically identical to that used by the corridor in his recent victory.
A road bike designed for the toughest conditions
The CFR Tensor Aerad is the last evolution of the well-known Aeroad range, a platform that has accumulated 15 years of development and has had one of its main trial fields in Paris-Roubaix. For this edition, the Canyon team introduced significant structural improvements with the aim of increasing the resistance of the painting against the tensions caused by the cobbled sections, without compromising the aerodynamics or the lightness of the set.

One of the most prominent advances is the optimization of the carbon laminate through simulation techniques that allow the fibers to be guided according to the loads that each area of the painting supports. This process has allowed to strengthen key points of the structure without adding unnecessary weight. The result is a bicycle that maintains outstanding rigidity and efficiency, while offering an absorption of impacts capable of supporting violent rubaix land.

Among the modifications implemented is the increase in the wheel pass to house tires up to 32 mm, although the commercial version arrives equipped with covers Pirelli P-Zero Race TLR RS Team Edition of 28 mm, designed to offer the ideal balance between grip and comfort. In addition, the front fork has been reinforced and the sealed address system to avoid the entry of dust and dirt, elements that can compromise the operation in races of this type.

Lukas Birr, one of the model design responsible, explains that the Paris-Roubaix represents the perfect setting to test the durability of a road bike. The extreme vibrations generated by the cobblestone act as a relentless test bench, allowing to detect possible weak points that, if not corrected, could lead to mechanical problems during the competition.

This experience acquired in the French classic has now moved to the serial model. The Canyon Aerad Cfr Tensor is presented in an exclusive finish, with the distinctive color and special stickers of the tensioner edition, available in sizes from the XXS to the XXL. The total weight of the set is 7.36 kg, a competitive figure for a bicycle designed to resist the toughest conditions.

The assembly includes rally limit components, headed by the 12-speed shimano-ace2 group, including hydraulic disc brakes and integrated potentiometer. Shimano Dura-Ace C50 R9270 carbon wheels complete equipment designed to offer maximum performance in any situation. The price of the CFR tensor Aerad is € 10,699, a figure according to the exclusivity of a bicycle that already knows what it is to climb to the top of the Podium of the Paris-Roubaix.
