The European Project on Forest Fire Management Treeads, in which the Diputación de Ávila participates as a partner, will celebrate its final event this Thursday, May 8, at the Los Serrano Palace of the capital of Abulense in a day that will bring together experts in technology, forest management and emergencies, as well as the main project partners in Spain.
This initiative has developed innovative solutions for the prevention, extinction and recovery of forest fires in high -risk areas, such as the Tiétar Valley, sources from the Diputación de Ávila have informed Europa Press.
“The event will serve to share the results of the work done and show the practical applications of developed technologies,” explained the deputy of European Affairs, Energy and Tourism, Armando García Cuenca.
In the case of the province of Abulense, the solutions will be implemented in the Tiétar Valley, an especially vulnerable area due to the density and value of its forest mass.
The program includes a debate table on current needs in forest fires, with representatives of Media XXI, FAFCyLE, the Junta de Castilla y León and the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge. Solutions
Next, the concrete solutions of the project in three phases will be exhibited: prevention and repair, extinction and response, and restoration and adaptation, presented by the respective partners involved.
Space will also be given to other similar European projects, such as Fire-RES and Chameleon, and a round table focused on the application of new Treeads technologies in the territory will be held.
Among the participants are entities such as the Diputación de Ávila itself, FAFCYLE, the University of Salamanca, Cartif, the University of Girona, B2SPACE and CAPGEMINI, the latter coordinator of the national pilot. The event assistance is free, but requires prior registration through the link available on the official website of the project, where you can also consult all the information about the pilot developed in Spain.
