Neat Burger, the restaurant chain backed by Lewis Hamilton and Leonardo DiCaprio, has closed its doors after only six years in activity. The Vegan restaurant, which served “hundreds hundred percent vegetables”, has been forced to close after registering large losses, according to The Sun.
The business lost 7.9 million pounds (more than 10 million dollars) in 2022, 3.2 million more than the previous year. At that time, the company closed several branches in London, along with its New York store. “We are concentrating our efforts in our restaurants with better results: we believe that sometimes taking a step back is necessary to make a greater leap forward,” said a company statement.
In 2025, there were only two establishments in the United Kingdom, both closed this week, according to the British newspaper. “We have no more comments at this time, apart from confirming that the business has made the difficult decision to close its restaurants in the United Kingdom,” said a Neat Burger spokesman. The business used about 150 people, all of which are expected to lose their jobs.
Hamilton has been vegan since 2017 and has several times “healthier” food options for consumers. DiCaprio, meanwhile, follows a flexible vegetarian diet in an effort to reduce its carbon footprint. “I think we need a healthier option in the street that knows incredible and offer something exciting to those who want to be free of meat from time to time,” Hamilton said during the launch of the hamburger chain in 2019.
They have been a couple of complicated weeks for Ferrari’s pilot, especially after finishing P7 at the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix, saying that he needed “a brain transplant” to understand his new car. It was difficult for him to hide his disappointment after his teammate, Charles Leclerc, ended on the podium, telling journalists: “There was not a second (in which I felt comfortable during the race).”
