“The maximum potential of the SF-25 I have already taken it”

In Miami, Ferrari had the worst weekend of the season, at least to date. Seventh and eighth place at the end of the race, with a difference of one minute with respect to the two McLaren, an eternity in this formula 1, especially considering that this is the last year of the current rules.

Charles Leclerc was also surpassed by Alex Albon’s Williams (fifth) and above all he had to fight with Lewis Hamilton, his teammate. A double exchange of positions in the second part of the race probably harmed both Monegasco and English.

In the end, Leclerc showed that he had a rhythm superior to Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who was sixth at the end. But the race ended at 1.5Sy, probably, without position changes with Hamilton, Leclerc would have had the opportunity to attack the Italian.

But the real problem is not related to strategy issues during the race. What fails is the performance of SF-25that is completely out of the pools for the top positions and even by the podium, at least in normal and without chaos conditions.

“Today there has been a lot of frustration,” Leclerc said after the Miami Grand Prix. “There are things that we will have to talk to the team and we will do it today. But it is a very difficult Sunday. I was very angry and I tried to open the radio as little as possible. It was difficult.”

Leclerc had important words about Ferrari’s competitiveness. In his opinion, the SF-25, in its current version, has already taken full potential, something worrying for Maranello’s team.

“I have four races saying, that is, from the triplet and this race, that we are taking out the whole potential of the car. In the triplet we show that it is more, but here we have not achieved it. We have to understand why. I have not had the same sensations as in the triplet and now we have to understand why we are not fast enough.”

“I believe in the car? I always believe in him. After such a day the frustration is very big and I do not want to be positive. But I will believe until the end and I will give everything until the end. But we have to improve the car. For now we are not there. Today it has been a difficult race,” the Monegasque concluded.
