The Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo González was emergency hospitalized This Monday, May 5 after suffering a sudden episode of low voltage.
Through a statement published on your social networks, González reported that fortunately his health status is stable and is receiving adequate medical care in a Spanish public hospital.
«I appreciate the excellent attention that I have received from medical and nursing staff. My family, my fighting companions and I feel calm to know that I am in good hands, ”he said in the letter.
González, who insists that he was the winner of the July 2024 elections and showed minutes that verify this victory, said he is aware that his responsibility as an elected president requires his prompt recovery. “My return to my responsibilities will occur according to medical indications”said.
While recovering, the opposition leader «María Corina Machado will continue to lead the political and organizational process, leading with firmness and commitment the route to the change that the country expects».
Edmundo González has been recognized as the president -elect of Venezuela by 15 countries and several international organizations. However, the National Electoral Council (CNE) in Venezuela gave Nicolás Maduro as winner of July 28, without showing, so far, the minutes that verify this victory.
Currently, González, 75, is exiled in Spain.
