León, Guanajuato, May 6, 20025.- Within the framework of the activities of the state Day of Human Rights, the International Congress “Human Rights, Vulnerabilities and Intersectionality” was held, with the aim of understanding the realities, principles, challenges and opportunities that bring us closer to a Guanajuato and a Mexico where all people access all their rights.
On behalf of Governor Libya Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, the Secretary of Government, Jorge Daniel Jiménez Lona, said “I am glad to share this morning with you to inaugurate the works of this great event organized by the Attorney General’s Rights, which opens the doors to reflect, not only about the theory, but of how work in this area impacts the lives of people”.
The Secretary of Government commented that protecting the dignity and rights of all people is a fundamental work for society and is an indispensable commitment to all democratic governments. It is a transverse work, which integrates and reaches all areas of public administration, academia, work spaces and human coexistence.
He mentioned that from the Government of the people the full commitment to the defense, promotion and exercise of human rights throughout the State is reaffirmed, so in Guanajuato, human rights are a priority part of the new beginning that we build society and government and that is reflected in concrete actions, as was the fact of telling for the first time in the history of our State with a secretariat that specifically attends the issue of human rights.
Jiménez Canvas said he was convinced that human rights cannot remain within the scope of a single dependence, but that all public officials must join the work to the extent of the powers contemplated by law.
He added that the human rights perspective must be present in each decision, in each act of government, in each public policy and in the daily work of the officials in the various spaces of the state administration, in addition to the fact that this work also corresponds to the rest of society, in each of its companies and institutions, because success is possible when all people work together, when there is a will to learn and promote from different spaces, the full exercise of rights.
The Secretary of Government congratulated the State Procurator of the State Karla Gabriela Alcaraz Olvera and his entire team, for all the work and effort to make this great event come true.
Likewise, the Universidad Iberoamericana de León and the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Guanajuato signed an agreement in defense and promotion of human rights, in order to create various actions of education, training and joint collaboration.
