Ciudad Juárez.- Given the suspicion of two cases of measles in Federal Secondary 19, the management of the campus activated the protocol, and announced as a prevention measure as of today the carrying of covers.
Educational Services of the State of Chihuahua (SEECH) confirmed that both cases came out negative to measles.
Aldo Viezcas, head of Seech, reported that having the suspicion activated the protocol, students were sent to medical review, and this Wednesday they did not attend the classrooms.
“We had two possible measles cases in Federal 19, both were sent to the doctor, in the protocol what we do is that if the child presents any symptoms, it is to communicate with the family father and ask him to take him to medical care to discard the possibility,” he said.
He said that a student presented a skin injury, that he alerted them; However, it was an allergy, according to the diagnosis of a private doctor who went in the morning, however, when returning to the institution, the managers requested that he went to a public institution to be issued a certificate, in both cases the same procedure was carried out.
He mentioned that a statement was sent to parents to inform them about the hygiene measure of the use of the covers on the campus.
Although suspicious cases were negative to the disease, teachers will take other prevention measures, such as the request to the parents of the national Vaccination Card to review the children’s schemes, as reported in a training that was granted to them the first days of May.
“That is what is intended, and that is what we are collaborating as education, with the health sector, in gathering the information of the vaccination cards, the teachers are already doing that work,” added the official.
They attended training
According to the journalistic registry, from April 9 to May 2, 15 thousand teachers in the North Zone for measles prevention were trained.
This preventive formation was offered to the increase in cases of this disease, which keeps Chihuahua in the first national place of infections.
The protocol involves teachers, managers and administrative of about 5,000 preschool, primary and secondary schools operating in Chihuahua, which can already recognize probable cases and provide attention to confirmed cases of the disease in institutions. (Verónica Domínguez / El Diario)
