Santagloria, the ‘Coffee & Bakery’ chain of the Multimarca ‘Foodbox’ Restoration Group, has signed a Franchise Master’s contract for Mexico that allows it to advance in its International expansion plan, with the foreseeable opening of at least 50 establishments of the brand in the next five years in the country.
The head of the development of Santagloria in Mexico will be Marcas Indef, led by José Irabién, who already manages several establishments of the brand in Madrid and the Basque Country. In addition, new openings are planned in Bilbao and San Sebastián, which will take its network to a total of 10 open or developing stores in the late 2025 in Spain.
This agreement involves a decisive step in the expansion of Santagloria beyond the Iberian Peninsula, where it has a consolidated presence of 180 establishments (in Spain, Portugal and Andorra). In addition, in 2023 and 2024 it has been figured among the three brands with the highest number of openings in Spain.
The president of Foodbox, Enrique France, stressed that this alliance in Mexico confirms the great reception that his business model is having and reinforces his growth strategy. “We will continue to bet on the international expansion of Santagloria, consolidating its position as one of the most relevant brands in the ‘Coffee & Bakery segment,” he said.
For his part, the founder of brands Indef, José Irabién, has stressed that Santagloria is “one of the brands with the greatest attraction and potential for growth within its activity segment and the organized restoration sector in general.”
“In this sense, we assume the challenge of managing the first International Franchise Master Agreement with pride and responsibility. I am convinced that this collaboration agreement will be a real success and will take the brand to new growth levels,” he added.
