The Konex Foundation spread the list of The 100 most prominent personalities of Argentine popular music in the 2015–2024 period within the framework of the 46th edition of the Konex Awards. The selection was made by the Grand Jury, chaired in this edition by Sandra Mihanovichwhile the presidency of the Foundation remains in charge of Luis Ovsejevich.
The distinction was organized in twenty different disciplines, each composed of five recognized figures. Since 1980, the Foundation gives these diplomas in cycles of 10 years.
Those selected will receive the Merit diploma In a ceremony that will take place September 9 In the Konex Cultural City. This is the fifth time that the activity of Argentine popular music is recognized by the Konex Foundation.
This is the fifth occasion when popular music is considered. They were previously Bright konex In this area, maximum award granted by the entity, Atahuaalpa Yupanqui In 1985, Mercedes Sosa In 1995, Horacio Salgán in 2005 and Dino Saluzzi In 2015.
In addition to the regular awards, the Konex Foundation awarded special mentions to figures and institutions whose trajectory had a relevant impact on the development of Argentine popular music. In this edition these were for Charly Garcia, Pimpinela duo, The authentic decadent and the trombonanza festival.
In turn, the jury granted the Konex of Honor, destined for an outstanding personality who died in the last decade to Javier Martínez and Mariano Mores.
The jury is made up of 20 people. Chaired by Mihanovich (Konex de Platino 1995 and 2015, Konex 2005 Award), its general secretary is Alejandro Lerner (Konex 1985, 1995 and 2005). Dino Saluzzi (Konex de Brindo 2015) is its honorary president.
After the delivery of the diplomas to merit, The choice of 20 konex of platinum and the bright konex will be chosen. The Grand Jury will choose in each of the 20 award -winning quintets.
