Tehran, May 4 (EFE) .- Iran presented this Sunday a new ballistic missile with a range of 1,200 kilometers, amid the threats of the United States and Israel to attack the Persian country for their support for Yemen’s hutis.
“The new solid fuel missile, called Qassem Basir, with a range of 1,200 kilometers, is capable of penetrating different air defense systems, such as (the Americans) Thaad and Patriot and those of the Israeli regime,” said Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh, in an interview with state television tonight.
Iranian television showed images of a test launch of the ballistic missile, held on April 17, indicating that “the objective impacted precisely.”
This projectile has been presented after the US Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, launched a direct threat against Iran for their alleged support for the Yemen huties, after the demolition of an American F-18 f -8 hunting.
“They will pay the consequences at the time and the place we choose,” said the Hegseth.
In addition, the US president, Donald Trump, has also threatened with a military action against Iranian nuclear facilities in case of not reaching an agreement in the negotiations with that country, whose fourth round scheduled for Saturday was suspended.
In reaction to these threats, the head of Iranian defense warned that “if they attack or impose a war, we will respond strongly.” “We will attack their interests and their bases, and we will not show ourselves reluctant or see limits in this regard,” Nasirzadeh notice.
The senior military position said that neighboring countries, “they are our brothers, but the US bases in their territory will be our goals,” he threatened.
American threats were repeatedly repeated today by the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamín Netanyahu, after a hypersonic ballistic missile of the Yemen Huitis impact the area of the Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, causing six injured.
“The attacks of the hutis come from Iran. Israel will respond to the Hutí attack against our main airport and, at the time and place we choose, to their Iranian terrorist masters,” Netanyahu said.
The Islamic Republic of Iran and Israel are staunch enemies that have already exchanged fire twice during 2024, after years of covert war with cyber attacks, murders and sabotages. EFE
