JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida baseball starts its final home stand of the season with a midweek in-state competition against USF on Wednesday, May 7, with first pitch set for 7 p.m., at Harmon Stadium.

On-Base Machine
Nick Monile continues to be one of the toughest hitters in the ASUN to keep off the bases. Since Monile arrived in Jacksonville, he has started all but one game this season for Joe Mercadante. The Osprey center fielder has reached base safely in 45 of 48 games played this season, recording a hit in 35 of the contests. While he has only recorded 17 RBIs, Monile has been a table setter at the top of the lineup, and he leads the ‘Spreys in runs (42). Against West Georgia, Monile tallied four hits and five runs scored over the three game series.
Alford SMASH!!!
Freshman Seth Alford has found himself starting consistently for UNF. The infielder has found his stride and his numbers show it. Against Stetson on April 11, Alford went 3-3 with a home run and two RBIs. In a midweek matchup with UCF, Alford tied the game in the ninth on a solo home run. He currently leads the Ospreys in HRs (7) From April 6-11, Alford tallied seven hits in three contests. In a three game series vs. Stetson last weekend, Alford cracked two home runs on Friday, April 25.
Conference Cade
Cade Bush has been red hot at the plate since ASUN play began! Bush is hitting .400 in ASUN play. He has hit safely in 14 games and has reached in all but two game played thus far. Against Queens, Bush drove in multiple RBIs in each game of the weekend series and cracked his first ASUN home run of the season. He tallied five hits in game one against West Georgia and has 28 hits against ASUN opponents.
Terrific Treichel
Bryson Treichel has been an instant impact pitcher for Joe Mercadante. While he did not start the season in the rotation, he soon found himself comfortable in the Saturday starter role. Treichel has struck out 67 batters, good for fifth in the ASUN so far. The righty has struck out at least six batters in six of his last eight starts.
Kade “Felix Bautista” Humphrey
RHP Kaden Humphrey has been one of the most lockdown relief pitchers in all of baseball. Humphrey has ten saves this season, good for first in the ASUN and tied for eighth in all of D1 baseball. His fastball and splitter combo has been the biggest reason opponents are hitting .196 against him. Against South Carolina, he struck at four in his outing, and has 39 total strike-outs this season in 25.2 innings.
