Washington, May 8 (EFE) .- US President Donald Trump said Thursday in his social social network that “conversations with Russia and Ukraine continue” and asked both parties to try to achieve a high unconditional fire of 30 days that both parties can respect.
“The conversations with Russia and Ukraine continue. The United States ideally demands a high unconditional fire of 30 days. I have hope that a high acceptable fire will be respected and in which both countries will give accounts when respecting these direct negotiations,” says the beginning of Trump’s message.
The President writes below that “if the high fire, the United States and its partners will not impose new sanctions” and remember that “thousands of young soldiers die every week” in the war between both neighbors.
“As president, I will maintain my commitment to ensure peace between Russia and Ukraine, together with the Europeans, and it will be a lasting peace! This high fire must ultimately lead to a peace agreement. Everything can be achieved very quickly, and I will be available at any time if my services are needed,” concludes the message.
-Trump has published his text after speaking by phone with the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, who has insisted on kyiv’s full availability to immediately declare a high 30 -day fire and start negotiating “in any format.”
The call has occurred on the first day of a three -day truce declared by Russia on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Allied Victory in World War II.
Both Washington and kyiv have considered the high fire fire raised by Moscow insufficient, and that according to the Ukrainian authorities the Kremlin army has systematically violated.
