Madrid (EFE) .- The Third Vice President of the Government and minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Sara Aagesen, presides over the second meeting of the Committee created by the Government for the analysis of the electric blackout of April 28.
The meeting will continue to analyze the data provided by the system operator, Electric Red, and by the electrical companies, with the aim of determining the causes of the electrical crisis that last Monday affected Spain and Portugal.
The meeting will take place at the Electric Red headquarters. The first meeting, held on Wednesday afternoon, was held at the Ministry for Ecological Transition, department that leads this analysis committee created by the Executive.
Claimed information to companies in the sector
This committee has already received “much” of the information claimed to companies in the electricity sector, but “given the technical complexity” to access certain data, a part of them are still being collected by companies.
On Friday the committee claimed in writing new requests for information aimed at the agents of the sector “to complete the reconstruction of the incident.”
Specifically, details have been requested on the hours before the blackout and on the supply replacement process.
Electric Red has already delivered all data
Red Eléctrica has already completed the delivery of all the data that the Commission had requested, according to the company on Thursday.
The Committee is made up of representatives of several ministerial departments: Government Presidency (through the Department of National Security), Ministry of Defense (through the CNI and the General Staff), Ministry of Interior (through the National Center for the Protection of Critical Infrastructure and the Office of Cyber Coordination) and Ministry of Digital Transformation (through digital security).
Organizations such as the National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE) and the Nuclear Safety Council (CSN) also participate.
It is also planned to incorporate into the National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC) and even private operators and international representatives.
