kyiv, May 3 (EFE) .- Ukraine managed to destroy a Su-30 Russian combat plane with a shot carried out from a Magura Nautical drone, which makes this country the world pioneer into an operation of this type, announced on Saturday the Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense (GUR).
“On May 2, 2025, a special unit of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in cooperation with the SBU (Security Service) and with the Ukraine Defense Forces, eliminated a Russian Su-30 in the Black Sea; it is the first destruction of a combat plane for a nautical drone in the world,” he said on his Telegram channel.
The plane was demolished with a missile launched from an unmanned maritime platform of Magura type, near the Russian city port of Novorosíisk, in the Krasnodar region, where much of the Russian fleet has been displaced from the annexed peninsula of Crimea.
After the impact of the projectile, the SU-30-valued according to the message at 50 million dollars-began to burn and then fell into the water.
The Gur recalled that in December last year the special forces already managed to knock down two Russian Mi-8 helicopters thanks to the use of this same nautical drone.
The Russian Ministry of Defense had previously reported the demolition on the black sea of Eight Storm Shadow cruise missiles, British manufacturing, and three Ukrainian Neptune-MD missiles and the destruction on the high seas of 14 nautical drones.
