The home will be open every day of the week, from 20 to 8 in the morning, and its qualification will run until September 5.
Unlike previous years, in this edition the space will open more in advance, considering the possible advance of low temperatures.
In 2023, the device was enabled on May 28 and, in 2024, 16; This year, climatic conditions accelerated its implementation.
Comprehensive assistance: dinner, breakfast, coat and containment
The space is designed to provide containment, security and dignity to those who are in a situation of vulnerability. In addition to offering dinner and hot breakfast, personal hygiene kits, clothing, footwear, kitchen, white and professional assistance will be delivered.
The Ministry of Social Development is the main responsible for coordinating the functioning of the home, providing the necessary furniture and resources. In turn, the Ministry of Public Health will guarantee health controls and vaccination schemes for each person housed, within the framework of the immunization calendar.
The Ministry of Security and Justice will have police personnel (male and female) to guarantee protection both inside and outside the building, while the capital municipality will contribute the facilities and collaborate in daily care.
A voluntary space with social impact
Access to the home at night is voluntary, and the entrants must accept the basic rules of coexistence.
The income is coordinated by technical teams, with the support of health, security and social action professionals.
The community can collaborate by notifying 911 or 105 in case of observing people in street situations, thus activating the assistance protocol.
During its operation in 2024, the shelter registered the occupation of more than 6 thousand places, and one of the most significant achievements was the family revinculation of 40% of those housed (around 25 people).
This process was worked through emotional strengthening, the openness to dialogue, the promotion of autonomy and accompaniment towards a socio -family reintegration.
