Palma, May 6 (EFE) .- PP and VOX have voted on Tuesday in the Balearic Parliament in favor of the validation of the Decree Tourism Law agreed by both parties to stop the tourist saturation that the islands live and that, finally, does not provide for the rise of the ecotasa or a new tax on rental cars or individuals for tourist use.
The decree, rejected by the left, prohibits the creation of new tourist squares in homes located in multifamily buildings and is allowed again to exchange tourist places between individuals, but without the possibility of increasing the total offer.
The regulations reinforce the fight against the unregulated tourist rental and the sanctions increase by 25 %. Online platforms will be obliged to demand the tourist registration number to allow commercialization, sharing responsibility with owners.
In addition, the Consells are enabled to declare saturated and conversion tourist areas.
The Minister of Tourism, Jaume Bauzà, has asked the opposition to leave behind the “mud policy”, has recognized that the approved text responds to the “parliamentary arithmetic” and has made it clear that the Executive will be “implacable” against the illegal offer.
Vox spokeswoman Manuela Cañadas, has shown the rejection of her party to approve new fiscal measures and has congratulated himself on the provisions collected by the decree to “fight” against illegality and “pursue” those who act against the law. In addition, the decree “does not impose the current tourism of the left,” he apostilled.
The socialist spokesman, Iago Negueruela, has lamented the deficiencies of a decree that only has a Vox ally, which “does not set limits” and that places 90,000 new tourist places in the Balearic Islands, something that rounded the Government. EFE
