The president of the United States Donald Trump said Tuesday that there is no tension between the United States, Mexico and Canada that can hinder preparations for the FIFA world Cup next year, which will be organized jointly by the three countries.
Trump, who received the Prime minister of Canada Mark Carney at the White House on Tuesday morning, denied that there are problems between his administration and the neighbors of the United States. The main message of Tuesday’s meeting was that the Trump administration is willing to do everything necessary to organize a successful tournament. That includes providing federal funds for security in the cities of the World Cup, because Trump argued that the economic benefits of the tournament would far exceed any federal investment.
