Political formation alerts presence of foam and waste in the water
Redacción/. The Pacma Animalist party has formally requested from the Madrid City Council, through the President of the District of Barajas, Juan Antonio Peña Ochoa, an urgent intervention against the worrying state of the Juan Carlos I Park Lake.
As reported by Asunción Estévez, Coordinator of Pacma in the Community of Madrid, the party has received neighborhood complaints accompanied by images in which you can see a dense accumulation of what looks like soap and foam in the water of the lake. A situation that could suppose a threat to fauna that inhabits this ecosystem, composed mainly of ducks, aquatic birds and turtles.
“We are faced with an institutional neglect case. Water pollution, in this case with waste incompatible with wildlife, is unacceptable in a public natural space with such an influx of visitors and ecological wealth,” said the coordinator.
From Pacma they remember that the care of urban ecosystems is not only a matter of image or health, but of environmental responsibility. Therefore, They ask the Madrid City Council to act immediately To investigate the origin of this waste, purify responsibilities if appropriate, and restore the park ecosystem as soon as possible.
