After the funeral of Pope Francis, President Gustavo Petro sent a new farewell message to the Supreme Pontiff through his X account. There, the president announced that he will order that “by millions” the encyclical laudato SI´, so that it is read in the schools of the country.
“As the president of the Republic of Colombia that I am still, head of state, and a little more only without you, I will order that the “Laudato Si” be printed by millions to read in schools, so that the farmer Labrador, read your words, beautiful and free, infinite; So that your energy passes from hand to hand, from the hands of boys and girls, and that they read what freedom is, and the care of life and learn to love with your words, life, companion, to which the war has declared”.
-In his message, the president also recalled that in this book, Pope Francis said that the common house must be taken, ““That life is on earth, there you put all your energy and your soul, and when life goes out, The energy is your beautiful and frank words”.
The head of state assured that millions of children and young people in the country will have their laudato if ‘”And they will read your words and they, free boys and girls, free youth will come true. AND Thus you will live brother, in the life of emancipation, of those who take care today and always take care of life”.
Petro added that he investigated where his second name came from, Francisco, and mentioned that he discovered “To an Italian religious revolutionary, very humble, who loved everything, brother sun, sister Luna, brother wolf, said, and I became a revolutionary for it, it was San Francisco de Asís and generated the idea of the human brotherhood that protects life”.
