The 13 mining workers who were kidnapped on April 26 in the Peruvian province of Pataz were found dead on Sunday, May 4. They were handcuffed and everything indicates that they were victims of an execution.
Agents of the National Police of Peru (PNP) found the bodies in one of the mining undercuts located in Pataz. According to police information cited by CanalNduring the time that the kidnapping lasted there was no negotiation with the captors.
The main suspect of the massacre is Miguel Rodríguez Díaz, known as ‘knife’, which would have demanded a rescue of four million soles (just over one million dollars) for the release of hostages.
