At least six Pakistani paramilitaries died and five were injured by the explosion of an improvised explosive artifact in the conflicting province of Baluchistanin the southwest of Pakistan, which crosses a strong increase in armed violence.
A ‘Frontier Corps’ vehicle – a Pakistani paramilitary force – was reached by an improvised explosive artifact.
“Six soldiers were dead and another five injured”He told Efe Ilyas Hussain, police officer of the Police Control of the Bolan District, where he happened from the incident.
In this district, the kidnapping at the hands of insurgents of Jaffar Express took place last March, a train with more 400 passengers – many of them members of the security forces – and that resulted in a long rescue operation that left more than 60 dead, including 33 attackers.
Hussain added that security forces have launched an operation in the area to find the perpetrators.
No group claims the attack
No group has so far claimed the attack, which occurs in full rebound in armed violence in Baluchistan, especially at the hands of separatist groups.
-One of the most active is the Baluchistan Liberation Army (Bla)which claimed the kidnapping of the Jaffar Express train on March 11.
In addition to the 33 attackers, 26 hostages and five security agents also died between the almost 48 hours that passed from kidnapping to liberation.
The Bla and other separatist groups direct their attacks mainly against security forces, since they accuse Islamabad of exploiting the rich mineral resources in the region, without their citizens barely receiving benefits.
This also leads to attacks against foreign workers – especially Chinese – and from other Pakistani provinces, who according to these groups collaborate to strip Baluchistan of their resources.
On March 27, three people died and another twenty were injured in an attack with a bomb after a police vehicle in Quetta, capital of Baluchistan.
