Melipilla exceeds 66% of the target group of influenza vaccination
According to the figures delivered by the Department of Health Statistics and Information (DEIS), of the Ministry of Health, until May 5, the Melipilla commune carries 46,049 vaccinated people, which represents 66.33% of inoculated against the influenza of the target group.
The figure represents an important percentage, since the goal is to vaccinate 69,429 people who make up the target group, or more prone to contagion and aggravation of the disease in case of infected.
-As for the specific groups that must be inoculated, the workers of Basic Pre -School and School Education exceed 94%. On the contrary, the group that is lower are adults over 60 years, who reach 51.92% population.
Who referred to these figures was the Health Director of the Municipal Corporation, Marcelo Cárdenas Moya, who made a special call to people about 60 years, to go to his health center or to the vaccination point that is on the third floor of the urban space mall.
“Regarding the vaccination campaign, in Melipilla we have good results. On the one hand, more than 46 thousand people have been vaccinated, which represents 66% of the objective population, and remember that at this date we should have 60, therefore, we are going well. Another remarkable example is that 84% of children from 6 to 10 years are already vaccinated,” said Cárdenas, adding that “we want to make a call to the population. It only has a 51% vaccination, one of the lowest percentages.
