Mexico City, 05/07/25 (more) .- During the town of the town, President Claudia Sheinbaum and the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina, presented on Tuesday the balance and projection of the National Road Infrastructure Program for 2025.
The official explained that the Plan includes construction works of new roads, bridges and road distributors, as well as the continuation of programs such as *Lázaro Cárdenas del Río *, the Guerrero Carretero program, artisanal roads and the conservation of road sections through the “Bacheton” scheme.
Esteva Medina reported that the program prioritizes attention to entities with strategic connectivity needs. Among the states with the highest number of projects are Colimawith eight developing works; Veracruzwith three; and Nayarit y Moreloswith two each. An ongoing work is also reported in each of the following entities: Baja California Sur, Mexico City, Querétaro, Quintana Roo, Sinaloa and Tlaxcala.
According to the secretary, so far 7.9 kilometers of new roads have been built with a public investment of 1,775 million pesos. The estimate of the federal government is to close the six -year period with 16.13 kilometers built and a total investment of 12 thousand 505 million pesos.
Regarding the program Bumpythe head of the SICT indicated that maintenance and conservation work will continue in damaged sections, with the aim of improving circulation conditions, reducing transfer times and strengthening road safety.
President Claudia Sheinbaum reiterated that the infrastructure policy in her administration seeks to guarantee equitable access to mobility, reduce connectivity gaps between urban and rural areas, and generate employment through the construction of community roads and local public works.
On the artisanal roads, the secretary explained that these are mainly focused on rural communities with difficult access, and that they are built through community models of local participation, with materials available in each region.
As for the priority axes, it was mentioned that logistics corridors and strategic sections linked to areas of economic activity, ports and tourist centers will be followed up.
The federal administration insisted that tas projects are developed with sustainability, social impact and accountability criteriaunder the technical surveillance of the sict.
Finally, Esteva Medina stressed that “every weight invested in road infrastructure has the purpose of improving the quality of life of the population and strengthening the country’s connectivity with territorial justice.”
