
The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, has received his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, at the Great Kremlin Palace on the occasion of the official visit of the leader of the Asian giant to this country.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Putin and XI have heard the national hymns in the sumptuous San Jorge room, the largest in Kremlin.
Then, both leaders greeted the members of the official delegations of both countries one by one and moved to another room to initiate bilateral negotiations.
“I am very happy with this new encounter,” Putin said at the beginning of the meeting, which was broadcast live on Russian television.
The Russian leader has been very grateful that, as in the 70th anniversary, XI decided to celebrate in Moscow on the day of the victory of the Red Army over Nazi Germany in World war II.
He recalled that the USSR lost about 27 million people in the war, while in China the victims of the contest amount to 37 million, between soldiers and civilians.
In turn, he stressed that a Chinese honor guard will parade through the Red Square in the framework of the military stop and promised to go on September 3 to the celebrations for China’s victory over Japan.

According to the Russian presidency, the leaders will hold meetings today in reduced and broad formats and will adopt two joint statements.
The first document will be around the deepening of the integral association between the two countries and the second, on global strategic security.
Later, the Chinese leader will attend a reception and a concert offered by the head of the Kremlin for the almost thirty leaders attending the celebrations of Victory Day.
