The International Cancer Researcher, Isabel Mosquera, visited the CESFAM VILLA NONGUÉN In Concepción to learn about the experience in prevention and control of breast and cervicouterino cancer. The Spanish specialist, member of the International Agency for Cancer Research (IAC)applied the impact evaluation, key tool to strengthen the planning, surveillance, detection and treatment of this disease.
The visit is part of a mission of international experts that, together with referents of the Ministry of Health of ChileThey seek to identify opportunities for improvement in registration and early diagnosis of cancer. “This is a very interesting exchange opportunity. All the information collected translates into a document with recommendations and proposals that is then delivered to the country,” Mosquera explained.
During the day, professionals of the Cesfam They presented their work methodology, control statistics and main needs detected to improve the Screening and guarantee more timely access to the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The approach combines early detection with accompaniment and community education actions.
