Raudel Ernesto Ruiz Vázquez, a member of the Cuban Association of Artist Artists (ACAA), celebrated his fifteen years of artistic life with the Forged Dream Exhibition, in the Raúl Martínez Art Gallery
His beginnings as a craftsman occurred in the Pauyet workshop, an outstanding Avileño artisanal working group, as he joined it and appropriated the culture of the work with metals.
Auto 1929Forged sleep is the celebration of your artisanal work for more than a decade. It is a solo exhibition before the public, of someone who preferred to dream awake with the creation of realities and inventions; even of artistic sites.
Of the objects made by Pauyet and other artisans – from recycling – was trapped; He learned techniques for the formation of pieces of various themes and, with them, the trade.
That group, precisely, constituted a school for the learning of experiences with their pairs of crafts, because, for a long time, the vocation dispensed with references in face -to -face mode.
Therefore, systematization became the essential way for the essential learning, accompanied by Rafael Blanco and team, as well as friends of the artistic craft guild.
Then, step by step, the very new craftsman appropriated the creative universe of those architects of integrated utility to beauty; This enriched his spirit and incorporated other cultural notions, as well as technical and formal interests.
After several joint creations, with the rest of the Pauyet group, the artist Raudel Ernesto developed his emotions and ideas with the purpose of conceiving new images, mainly, metallic. In this way, he obtained renovations of pieces, derived from the imprint that gave rise to his irruption. In spite of the influences of artistic otherness, this creator concentrated, essentially, in what, until today, mobilizes it: nature and aeromodelling.
In the first case, the constant challenge to time is evidenced, interesting series in which temporality is represented through odd interpretations of the clock as a symbolic element. On the other hand, the second demonstrates the vocation towards this practice, being part of the theme of proposals to the exhibition.
Fifteen years of delivery to creation, with Pauyet and alone, are exhibited to the public, demonstrating not only the incursion in metal domain, but also in the search for beauty.
It is appreciable how metal and wood designs are integrated, in several pieces, exquisitely. The application of pigment on the surface of some consisting elements of the works, sometimes defines the artistic value. It also attracts the search for manifestations of nature, for example, birds, which are captured in their respective environments.
Also, other metallic existences – particular transport designs – captivate the viewer; and the recurrence to the past of the car constitutes something noticeable in the collection of Raudel Ernesto, but with the insertion of recreated solutions.
Two works resort to the iconography of Christianity: Crucified Christ (polychrome photography) and Christ for Peace (sculpture composed of bullet caps). Both were conceived with the purpose of functioning as calls for peace management, with religious component from the cultural perspective.
Although the sculpture starred in the exhibition, photography tried relations of the artist’s link with nature and technology, without dispensing with filial lyricism.
The photos graph coordinates of the experiential experience of Raudel Ernesto Ruiz Vázquez; It also confirms the marked interest regarding the issues by him prioritized, that is, the same concepts met through the remaining manifestations.
Sculptures of ingenious figurations, the projection of a personal miniaturism and attractive facilities, are the proposals that demonstrate a work in which the contemplation and management of peace is imposed, through the configuration of pleasant appearances, with good taste and excellent invoice, impregnated with beauty and identity.
