The National Superior Court reported that Ollanta Humala was already formally notified of the sentence that condemns 15 years in prison for the crime of money laundering. Humala’s lawyer denounced not being notified

The National Superior Court responded by pointing out that the ex -president was notified on April 24, that is, one day after the full reading of the sentence. With this, the deadline to present the appeal – 10 business days – is already ongoing and would win next week.
Humala is serving preventive detention since April 15, after being convicted of the Third National Collegiate Criminal Court, which found it guilty of receiving illegal contributions from the Brazilian company Odebrecht and the Venezuelan government. His wife, Nadine Heredia, sentenced to 12 years in the same process, is in Brazil under diplomatic asylum with her minor son.
Wilfredo Pedraza: “We are prevented from appealing”
