The president of the Congress of Peru, Eduardo Sallejuana, considered an impertinent salary increase for the president Dina Boluarte, because the to take the measure is not timely.

Meanwhile, the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of Peru, together with the Ministry of Economy, requested through a report to raise the salary to the president of the Andean Nation, Dina Boluarte.

The report of the increase, which is equivalent to more than double what the president enters so far, said that “in terms of hierarchy and responsibility, its position is superior to that of the Ministers of State, so their compensation should reflect this preeminence.”

In this sense, the Economy Commission of the Congress of the Republic convened the Minister of Economy and Finance, José Antonio Salardi, to base the report that shows the increase in the monthly remuneration of President Dina Boluarte of 16,000. soles (equivalent to $ 4,365,62), to 35,568 Peruvian soles (9,736.54 US dollars).

The session was scheduled for , May 9 at 09h30 (local time) in the hemicycle of the Legislative Palace.

The Technical Report of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), said that the measure aims to match the president’s salary with that of other presidents of the region, arguing that Peru is the country that least pays its officials.

However, this salary increase means an increase of 125 percent compared to the current salary of Boluarte, which generated criticism in a complex and economic context for Peruvians.
