The first seasonal concert of the Music Network is a tribute to Medellín and the beginning of the celebration of the 350 years that the city is fulfilling.

How is a tribute to the city, it is also its music and history, Colombian folklore and great artists such as Lucho Bermúdez, Pacho Galán, Edmundo Arias and the Sonolux Orchestra, who had such an important step through Medellín in the middle of the last century, helping to forge the cultural destiny of the city that today wants to consolidate as capital of entertainment, with music as the protagonist.
The concert, which will take place this Wednesday, April 23 at the theater of the University of Medellín at 6:00 pm will gather a group of 150 girls, boys, youth and adolescents of the Music Network, both of the assembly and the seedbed of popular music, with the proposal between joints and drums, an experience that highlights how these rhythms have lasted for generations, being part of the soundtrack of the city. The concert will explore the evolution of this traditional genre and its roots in culture
The group will be under the direction of Andrés Felipe Rentería Hurtado and Alexis Gaviria. The presentations will make a tour that fuses the legacy of great exponents of Colombian folklore, such as Lucho Bermúdez, Pacho Galán, Edmundo Arias and the Sonolux orchestra, with new musical expressions.
-“I feel very excited to return, this 2025, to enjoy the concerts at the University of Medellín. Really, I feel that it is a very big challenge this year. I know that the whole group shares the goal of filling the theater and that we all enjoy what we are passionate about, which is music,” said the participant of the Ensemble of Popular Music, Luciana Marulanda.

Integrated groups of the Medellín Music Network include the initial Symphony Orchestra, the Intermediate Symphony Orchestra, the Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Youth Symphony Band, the initial choir, the youth choir, the Choir of Families, the Seedser of Popular Music, the Ensemble of Popular Music, the Tango Seeder and the Tango orchestra.
“These are spaces where children show all their learning and the new rhythms they are building,” said the Undersecretary of Art and Culture, Cristian Cartagena.
