The smallest concrete blocks for the protection of the port of Lastres, 40 tons, will be manufactured in the port space. They will be a total of forty. They will be added to the 378 blocks of 60 tons that have been manufactured in Nava and will be transported by road to the port.
This has been revealed by the General Director of Infrastructure of the Asturian Government, Manuel Calvo, who has appeared at the General Meeting of the Principality at the request of the PP.
In the beginning, and for two weeks it is planned to take 110 units of 60 tons blocks. The transport will be made with special vehicles of five axles in the trailer with a maximum load per axis of 12.5 tons.
Subsequently, the crane will be installed for a week and then the second phase of block transport would begin, the remaining 268 blocks. The deadlines that are marked is that the work is completed in January 2026.
The deputy of the PP Cristina Vega has insisted on her speech on the need to do a geological study of the descent ramp, since it is the only access to the port and the impact that these large -tonnage transport could have, even in the houses.
However, Calvo has said that the Principality has no competence to do these studies and that they will follow the procedure established by the General Directorate of Traffic. Calvo has also said that the cost of transport is not included in the new modified.
