In May, the connection to the National Electrical System (SEN) of another photovoltaic solar park (PSFV) that rises today in the province of Cienfuegos is planned. Located in the bad weather area, Cruces Municipality, the work – until the time of writing this information – 80 percent of its execution, at least in its civil part.
In this regard, Julio M. Navarro, investment specialist of the Provincial Electric Company, said that progress is made according to the schedule, which began with the PSFV of Mayor Mayoropened in the month of February, and will be followed by the cassava, willing to connect on the 30th of this month.
“This is a work in which we have a lot of confidence, and like its counterparts has been very expensive for the country, an expense that is around 16 million pesos in currency, but which will ultimately offer SEN others very necessary 21.87 MW,” he said.
In the 25 hectares where the Park of bad weather is nestled, they work today not only the workers of the Ecoi-6 but other operators who have supported from distant companies and provinces such as Havana, regularly, so that everything is ready on May 25.
-On the durability of the equipment, some doubts of the population, referring to their resistance to possible cyclones and hurricanes in our region. He said that according to the Cuban standard, the panels are conditioned with stipulated fixing screws and prepared to resist winds with speeds between 250 and 280 kilometers per hour, which is enough.
Other specific features on the basic engineering of these places were collegiate, including the inclination of the tables in the 15 degrees, always oriented with Azimut 0⁰, as well as the design of the concentrating boxes, which must be attached to the support structure, and under them locate a platform that avoids the growth of the vegetation and facilitates access to the electrical connections between the equipment.

In addition to mayor, cassava and bad weather, it is approved in the same way, the construction of two more parks, one in Pepe Rivas, on the outskirts of the head of the header, by November 2025, and another in Cumanayagua, with inauguration calendar next year.
Once completed, Cienfuegos would have approximately 105 MW and save about 9 thousand 100 tons of fuel per year, according to estimated calculations.
