Through the social network X, the president sent congratulations to Valdés “in his lucid, vital and revolutionaries 93” and thanked him for his example.
“The challenges are greater when you are in front of the historical ones, acting with the same energy of the moment they entered history,” Diaz-Canel said in his message, highlighting the trajectory of the Commander of the Revolution.
From the same digital platform, the president of the National Assembly of Popular Power, Esteban Lazo, also joined the congratulations and thanked Valdés for his example of delivery and commitment to the country and the Cuban revolution.
Ramiro Valdés was born on April 28, 1932 in the City of Artemis, west of Havana, and from a young age he linked to the revolutionary movement.
After the triumph of January 1, 1959, he assumed the positions of Minister of the Interior twice, head of computer science and communications; as well as vice president of the State Council and member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba.
Since 2019 he serves as Vice Prime Minister of the Republic.
