The school activity has been interrupted on Monday by the electric blackout, but the intention of a good part of the autonomous communities is to resume on Tuesday. Only four have reported for now that they suspend it: Madrid, Extremadura and Aragon, which will still maintain open centers, and Galicia, who has ordered their closure.
The regional administrations that have already confirmed that the centers with school activity will open are those of Castilla y León, Asturias, Cantabria, Andalucía, Euskadi, Navarra, Community Valenciana, Catalunya and La Rioja, to which the Canary Islands and Balearic Islands are added because the blackout has not affected them.
The loss of electricity has surprised most of the schools in Spain when they were finishing the morning classes or even with their students already in the dining room. Some have seen how the parents came to look for their children before the end of the schedule, while in some communities they have received the order to remain open until all minors were received.
Looking ahead to Tuesday, already waiting for the supply to be fully recovered, there are finally three communities that have suspended classes.
-Galicia has directly decreed its closure at all educational levels. “We still without supply in very important parts of Galicia,” said Rueda after the Cecopi Gallego meeting, held in A Estrada (Pontevedra).
In Madrid and in Aragon what are suspended are classes, but the centers will remain open to guarantee the attention of students whose parents need it. The centers will be treated with teachers, but the subject will not be advanced, the governments of both communities have communicated in a similar way.
Beyond these three cases, the intention of the rest is to open normally. With all some governments, such as Catalonia, Andalusia, or Castilla y León, have been prudent and have expressed that they will do it except last minute incidents.
