Al Bano and Romina Power separated in 1999, after 29 years of marriage. The disappearance of his daughter Ylenia in 1994 was a determining factor in his distancing. After their separation, the musical duo they formed was also dissolved.
In 2013 they resumed their artistic collaboration, which led them to reappear in our country in 2014 with a concert in Girona, but since then we had not seen them together in Spain. A decade later, they announce their return with four concerts in Madrid, Barcelona, A Coruña and Marbella. during the presentation of this tour the two were complicit and fun, although there has been room for emotion when they have remembered the tragedy they lived when daughter, Ylenia, disappeared in New Orleans.
How was the idea of singing together again?
Romina. There are several years since we have sings together again. He emerged by chance, when a Russian businessman, in 2013, had the idea of inviting us to a celebration of his 70 years. Since then we have not stopped. But I am very happy because this will be the first time I sing in Spain in ten years.
What does the Spanish public mean for you?
Al Bano. I like the Spanish public, it is a pleasure to return. When I go down from the plane and listen to spanish I feel at home. Even singing in other countries I always meet Spaniards who welcome me with love.
A. They have never forgotten us, and that gives a pleasure. In addition, I have noticed that men in Spain are more handsome than Italians.
A. But by your side you have an Italian …
A. Those I have seen down the street are more handsome.
A. Have you been asking if they were Spaniards? [risas].
Is there a chemistry between you when you act?
A. Yes, during the hour and a half that our actions last we can be without fighting. The only difficult thing for me is to listen to my voice when I sing next to him, because people when they get older lose their voice and he has better than before.
What are you doing to keep your voice young, to the bath?
A. I drink came, time with good friends, I have energy and on the living stage with adrenaline. All that helps. Singing helps stay young. I have realized this watching people of my age in other works.
A. It is true that singing helps keep you young. I have noticed it in many singers from the United States, and older.

When complicated circumstances are lived in life, it is sometimes difficult to join again, seeing you together is surprising, is it because music is healer?
A. Yes, it is medicine.
What other help have you needed to overcome difficulties?
A. Buddhism has helped me answer all the questions that had no answer.
A. As a good Italian, they baptized me and made the first communion … but I am not a Christian by nature, but because life has made me follow this path. I understood the Christian religion very well when, in the 90s, everything happened to me. Our daughter, her departure … so many things … I had anger and I walked away from the Christian religion, from Christian feeling.
Did the disappearance of your daughter Ylenia lose faith?
A. The days passed, the months passed … I sang as God at that time. For rage, for everything he lived. But I realized that something was missing and I looked for it. I lacked the Christian sense that I had lost. But then I realized that God also lost his son. And I told myself: “If you are a good Christian, why don’t you assume this episode of your life, this reality? Losing a daughter is losing someone very important in your life.” From that moment, my life was not better, but I appropriated what I had moved away. Now I live better having discovered what the Christian religion is.
Will there be new songs in these concerts? Or will we only hear your hits?
A. There is some new song and we also review our great successes. And our son [Yari Carrisi] It also has some songs. On this tour we will make some songs like soloists and others such as duet. It will be a complete show.
