After almost 20 years of work and planning, the project of the Integral Welfare Center for older people takes new concrete steps towards their materialization. This Wednesday, the mayor of Quillota, Luis Mella Gajardo, was invited to expose the initiative to the Health commission of the Regional Government of Valparaíso, chaired by Dr. Rodolfo Silva.
The presentation focused on the main axes of the project, which includes a modern geriatric center and a network of services aimed at improving the quality of life of the elderly and their families. The proposal was received with interest and applause from the regional counselors.
At the end of the day, Mayor Mella expressed his satisfaction for the positive reception:
“Yes, the truth is that I am very happy, I want to tell the Quillotanos that we have exposed in the Health Commission of the Regional Council our project of the Welfare Center, including the geriatric center inside. I was very happy with the reception, very grateful to the commission, president and vice president and of all the members. And we are going well, we are on the right track, so that dream, that it is already a dream of all, I that a lot of strength and we took a very important step today by presenting our health center project to the health commission. ”
For his part, the president of the Health Commission, Dr. Rodolfo Silva, valued the instance and leadership of the mayor in a strategic vision project:
“Well, first of all, thank Mayor Luis Mella for attending the invitation we made with the vice president of the Health Commission, Romy Faría, to present this project that has been incubating, to put it in some way, more than 15 or 20 years ago. A pleasure to listen to it, I think that it is a mayor that has a different, wide, generous public health vision. its fair measure, in whatever corresponds. “
The president of the Commission also emphasized the commitment of the Regional Council to support the concretion of the project:
“Regional Council, with the money that the mayor needs to finish and fastening this project that will help older adults to have a dignity, a quality of life and a quality of death, why not say it, different from the one we have at this time in the public health of Chile. So thank you very much for the presence and we will follow up on this project until you cut the tape.”
The Quillota Welfare Center represents a regional and national pioneer proposal, which seeks to install a new standard in the integral care of older adults, from a human, dignified and community perspective.
