Chihuahua.- The Ministry of Rural Development (SDR), reported that 13 forest fires in seven municipalities of the State are remained active, with effects in 17,744 hectares of forest.
The active accidents are located in Bocoyna, Guadalupe and Calvo, Guazapares, Morelos, Madera, Guachochi and Urique, which are directly fought by 417 brigades.
The crews are made up of personnel of the National Forestry Commission (Conafor), the SDR, as well as groups supported through the Environmental Services Payment Program (PSA).
These tasks also have the support of the State Coordination of Civil Protection, the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena) and the National Guard.
The SDR urges the population to extreme precautions and collaborate in the prevention of forest fires through simple actions, such as completely turning off fires and not throwing cigarette butts in natural areas.
