Behind the successful space walk carried out by two NASA astronauts is a Colombian talent. Diana Trujillo, flight director of the American Space Agency, was the one who led the mission.
From the Missions Control Center on Earth, La Caleña was in charge of directing planned operations and last minute adjustments, a very important work to complete the assignments of Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers, the two women responsible for the space walk that lasted five hours and 44 minutes.
Its main allocation was the relocation of a communications antenna and the installation of a base support for a set of solar panels that will arrive later in a mission advanced by Space X.
“Quiet the helmet, how good to see them again here. It was an honor to have been its flight director on this space walk,” Diana wrote on the social network X.
This was the space walk is the number 93 made by the United States and the fifth headed by only women.

Astronauts Anne and Nichole Ayers carried out their mission of support for the assembly, maintenance and improvements of the space station.
As reported by NASA, they concluded with its objectives that included the transfer of a communications antenna from the space station and the initial steps of installation of the assembly support for a solar set drop -down of the International Space Station (IROSA), which will arrive in a future Commercial Replacement Mission of Spacex.
In addition, they installed a bridge cable to supply energy from the P6 structure to the Russian segment of the International Space Station, among other tasks.
