More than 1,500 residents of Renca have accessed specialists and surgeries thanks to an agreement with the Clinical Hospital of the University of Chile, unique in the northern zone, which has allowed decongesting waiting lists in traumatology, otolaryngology and ophthalmology.

Mayor Claudio Castro stressed: “Until March, 1,534 neighbors resolved their consultations and 145 underwent surgeries, significantly improving their quality of life. This agreement is great for Renca, in a context where waiting lists are a problem.”

In addition, a callbot with artificial intelligence was implemented to anticipate decompensations in patients with cardiovascular diseases. This tool identifies critical cases through automated calls and allows you to coordinate home visits or urgent appointments in CESFAM, reducing derivations and optimizing medical resources.

Stories such as Héctor Oyarzún, beneficiary of a hip prosthesis, show the positive impact of these initiatives. “The changed my life; now I can to my normal activities,” he said.
